Today home lighting is an integral part of home décor and interior designing. Lights are crucial in setting the mood and the ambiance of all the rooms in a home. Before embarking on a shopping spree for home lighting accessories and gadgets, decide how you want each room to feel, and map the indoor lighting and outdoor lighting scheme first. Check out each room and its utility and thereafter the amount of lighting it might need. Next check how the light fixtures can be set up around the rooms. This includes fans, chandeliers, tiffany, well-placed spotlights, floor lamps, table lamps and, pendants. Once you have planned and identified how you will arrange the lighting setup, make sure that the plan is tailored in accordance with your budget. I The streets of Chihuahua appeared black, movement-devoid slabs as the van unimpededly slipped over then at 0530 to the train station, not a single automobile encountered during the brief journey from the Hotel San Francisco. Founded in 1709 by the Spaniards and taking the Indian word for “dry and sandy place” as its name, Chihuahua City, located on a 4,667-foot desert plain, is the capital of Chihuahua, Mexico’s largest state, with a 150,000-square-mile area. A cowboy city, it is characterized by the Franciscan Cathedral in its main square, Pancho Villa house, cowboy hat-clad citizens, and stores displaying endless rows of cowboy boots. The state itself, topographically distinguishable by brown, vegetationless formations, is the leading producer of apples, walnuts, cotton, and jalapeno peppers, and is prevalent in lumber production and cattle ranching. An agrarian Mennonite community produces its own indigenous type of cheese. Ahead, and beyond the fence, appeared the two locomotives and the four lighted passenger cars comprising the daily westbound Chihuahua al Pacifico Railroad, operating as Train 74, cradled by one of three tracks as it was prepared for its still-nocturnal departure to the Copper Canyon and, ultimately, to its Pacific coast terminus, Los Mochis. Winter Solstice is the shortest day of the year, and then the light slowly starts returning to the northern hemisphere. But that still means we have many months of the year when our bedrooms get very little or no light in the mornings, when we get up, and are dark long before we go to sleep. If you’re someone who gets blue without enough light in your life, try brightening up your bedroom by making it feel like summer!
Think summer. Light colors, light fabrics. Take down the dark, heavy drapes and let the windows bring in as much light as possible during the day. When evening approaches, pull down the blinds and close the sheer curtains, which will look delightful in the glow of your warm bedroom lighting. Use soft white or pink-tinted bulbs in your lamps, or the full spectrum bulbs that replicate natural sunlight. They can make a huge difference in how you feel!
One way to optimize the light that comes in during the day is to position a large mirror on a wall across from or corner to a window. The mirrors will reflect sunlight and bounce it around the room. Hanging crystals in your windows [...] Continue Reading…

Notice I have purposefully avoided the term “bachelor pad” here. That’s for good reason. That expression conjures up immediate visions of complete, utter cheesiness. And if you expect to invite women over at any point (which I trust is a given) the last thing you want your place to be as a single man is cheesy.
OK, maybe that’s second-from-last. The very last thing you want your place to be is dirty. And you can take that anyway you’d like, because no matter what you are thinking you are understanding me perfectly.
Interestingly, I’ve had numerous guys (and some women) ask me how to get the topic of this section right. Here’s the thing: EVERYONE has his or her unique set of circumstances. Some have lots of money, some have hardly anything extra to spend. Some live in the city, and some live in small towns. Some live where you have satellite TV, and others don’t. With all of that in mind, I’m going to approach this from the mindset of an average guy with average income who lives in a suburban setting. You are welcome to take what [...] Continue Reading…

In order to choose the suitable lighting for a room you should know your needs.
Know your need before you make any purchases & you may not know what you need while you’re at the shop.
Otherwise you may find inefficient lighting and you have to return some times. This is a task with moderately easiness.
The first step that you need to do is to view the light in your tv room for a different times per day.
Position your blinds or draperies as they will be during most of the day. Look at the dark spots in your room that will have to be illuminated.
E.g. if you read a book in the corner of your living room at four pm, make certain to check the lighting for that specific time at that specific place.
If there are sofa tables or end tables, verify to have the correct lamps on them. The lamps should not only reflect the style of the living-room, but also the scale of the table.
Use teller lamps to add height to the sofa tables instead of the end tables. The overhead lighting should be bright enough to be illuminated as many areas [...] Continue Reading…

Determining your home decorating style can be difficult, especially if you have never decorated anything before. However, with a careful examination of your personality, your color and hue preferences, and geometric shapes that you find pleasant, you can quickly begin to shape your use of furniutre and decorating personality.
The home décor you choose will reflect the things that you find pleasant in other aspects of your life. If you think back to when you were in school, you probably had a favorite subject. If you preferred math, you will probably prefer to decorate with clear, concise lines that imitate geometric shapes and can be measured in real numbers. However, if math wasn’t such a pleasant experience for you but you loved art class, you may like the more abstract, flowing type of design, with intricate weavings or carvings and delicate drawings and images.
Modern furnishings tend to be quite geometric, while the neo-classical furniture style takes into account the need for a contemporary design while still being compelled to love the ornate and robust. Neo-classical integrates the two cultures into one decorating style that can please those who are torn.
Home décor also reflects your moods [...] Continue Reading…
